GREEN CHALLENGES OF EKOPOLIS

The global campaign STOP CLIMATE CHANGE 2011, was marked with the opening of solo exhibition of photographs and installations of Dragan Vidojkovic, multimedia artists, by EKOpolis media network in Niš in `European corner`, Nis. This exhibition, called "GREEN CHALLENGES OF EKOPOLIS" was sponsored by Palilula Municipality, in consultation with the members and eco-network partner organization Education Center in Knjazevac. The exhibition opened Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly, who emphasized the importance of civic activism and interactive cooperation between local authorities and civil society. Prof. Dr. Radivoje Mancic and Milan Petrovic spoke about the photographs and `GREEN CHALLENGES`.

"Before us is an artistic photography, installation, engaged art, presented with a picture. Picture of the situation, picture of hope, to transform picture into reality. Time will prove that the ideas of Dragan Vidojkovic, an artist with a camera, builder of ecological awareness in the environmental movement activists, scientist in ecological theory are the ideas for the future. Vidojković, in this way Nis, Serbia and the Balkans brought into the campaign Stop Climate Change-Clean up the world, more than ten years ago. Photos appeal to remove the hazardous waste landfill, refer to the protection of water means life to us, talk about the value of a man who must keep as a pupil of the eye, the botanical treasures, talk about the beauty of all seasons. This is picture of love of man and nature. Thanks to the man, citizen, artist, professor and academician. Together with interviews of world leaders on climate change, held in Durban, South Africa, from 28 November to 9 December 2011, the media network EKOPOLIS organized several activities aimed at strengthening the education of the population and citizens' initiatives.
